Where Dentistry Meets Whole-Body Healing
Dental longevity · Oral health · Mindful care
The mouth is not separate from the rest of the body. That is where my work begins, in practice and in the conversations I bring to an audience.
I speak about preserving natural teeth, the oral microbiome, whole-body dentistry and the teeth-brain connection. I also explore how we listen, make decisions and care for one another.
Whether I am teaching colleagues or speaking with a community group, my responsibility is the same: explain the reasoning, make room for questions and help people understand their choices.
My approach to speaking
What I bring to your event.
I want the audience to leave better informed, not more afraid of their health or more dependent on someone else’s answers.
-
A practicing dentist’s perspective.
My teaching begins with the decisions I work through with patients: what needs treatment, what can be preserved and how to weigh the alternatives.
-
Depth that fits your audience.
A study club may need clinical cases and restorative detail. A community talk needs clear language and relevant examples. We agree on the purpose before building the session.
-
Room for questions and different perspectives.
I distinguish established evidence, emerging research and my clinical philosophy. A useful discussion can acknowledge uncertainty without losing its direction.
Speaking topics
What I speak about.
These themes can become a clinical presentation, a community talk, a workshop or a conversation. The emphasis depends on the people in the room.
-
Dental longevity
“How do we help this tooth last as long as possible?” A prevention-first discussion about conserving natural tooth structure, preserving vitality when reasonable and planning beyond the next procedure.
For dental, longevity and community audiences.
-
The oral microbiome
Understanding the mouth as an ecosystem, rather than treating all bacteria as the enemy. We explore saliva, daily habits, microbial balance and the questions to ask about testing and oral-care products.
For wellness events, healthcare teams and community groups.
-
Whole-body dentistry
How nutrition, health history, breathing, sleep and personal priorities enter my approach to dental care. Treating the person, not the procedure, while knowing when another professional belongs in the conversation.
For integrative health programs, retreats and interdisciplinary teams.
-
The teeth-brain connection
Exploring oral health, chewing, sleep and research into cognitive health. We examine what studies suggest, what remains uncertain and why an association should not be presented as proof of cause and effect.
For brain-health, healthy-aging and longevity events.
-
Biomimetic restorative dentistry
Clinical education on adhesive dentistry, immediate dentin sealing, resin coating, material selection and preparation design. The focus is the reasoning and sequence behind tooth-preserving restorative care.
For dentists, study clubs and professional education programs.
-
Mindful care, communication & leadership
Presence, listening, informed consent and responsibility in our relationships. A discussion informed by my clinical work, podcast conversations and experience leading a weekly men’s circle.
For healthcare teams, leadership gatherings and retreat groups.
Other topics we can explore: airway, sleep and TMJ; nutrition, saliva and remineralization; dental materials and informed choice; and oral health for plant-based communities.

Dr. Seth Gilson, The Mindful Doctor Podcast
My podcast gives me space to explore dentistry, medicine, nutrition, spirituality and human performance through conversation. I ask questions, listen to different perspectives and keep learning alongside my guests.
That format can also work well at an event: a live interview, a panel or a moderated discussion with time for the audience’s questions.

The men’s circle I lead
I lead a weekly men’s circle focused on life, personal growth, responsibility and meaningful connection.
It is a different setting from a lecture, but listening, thoughtful questions and respect for the individual remain central. Facilitated small-group conversations can be part of a retreat inquiry.
